Rhonda is a single mother, and works in a stationery shop in Hout Bay. Although Jeane still see’s his father, Rhonda does not receive any financial assistance.

Jeane is the only child of Rhonda, who lives in the coloured community in Hout Bay Harbour. Rhonda and Jeane both live with her mother, who assists Rhonda with looking after Jeane in the afternoons.

Jeane is an active child, who enjoys the company of other children. He is tall for his age, and speaks both Afrikaans and English.

He is starting in Grade R at Valley Pre-Primary in January 2009.
