We were informed by his parents that ‘Lubablo’, translated from Xhosa means a blessing.
Lubablo is a quiet, polite 5 year old child, who has been educated in a creche in the coloured community in Hout Bay. His mother (Blondie), has a full time receptionist job, and his father works as a machine operator.
The combined income of the parents give the children a better standard of living than most in their community, although it is far below the financial opportunity of private education.
The family live in a ‘brick’ home in Imazamo Yethu, the informal township in Hout Bay.
Lubabalo is a ‘bright’young child, who knows his number, colours and alphabet. He will be starting in Grade R in Valley Pre-Primary as a new child on the programme in January 2009.
he has a younger brother who is 18 months, and hoping to join the programme if a sponsor can be found.
