Support

Bright Start believes that sponsoring fees alone are not sufficient to ensure the child succeeds. The child and family need additional support i.e social, emotional and cultural.

After a child has been selected and placed in a school, it will be allocated a specific mentor from Bright Start.

The mentor will develop a relationship with the child and assist with providing support and guidance for the three parties concerned.

The programme provides support to;
1. Child

The programme provides financial, social, emotional and academic support to provide a maximum learning opportunity.

2. Teachers

Bright Start works alongside teachers to assist with needs beyond the realms of the classroom such as extra curricular activities, third party support, social or emotional problems, and facilitating communication with the parents if necessary.

3. Parents

Bright Start provides support to parents to assist with cultural differences, encourage their involvement in their child’s schooling and facilitate communication with teachers.

In addition, the programme offers assistance in the following ways:

  • Monthly progress meetings - child, teacher and parents
  • Message folder review – to keep up to date with school events
  • Extra curricular activities – participation suitability
  • Transportation to events – if required
  • Third party assistance – doctors, dentists, educational specialists etc
  • Birthday – assistance with birthday party
  • Sponsor communication – term and annual reports
