For most parents in Hout Bay the government schools are their only affordable option. However, these schools are seriously overcrowded and under resourced, resulting in a minimal level of supervision and education.

By becoming an education Sponsor, you offer a child a ‘brighter future’ and assist in strengthening the future of South Africa.

An education sponsor contributes the amount for an individual child’s school fees at a prominent school in Hout Bay. The child then becomes part of Bright Start's Education Support Programme where he or she is given the support required to ensure the child fulfils its maximum potential.

Sponsors may be individuals, groups or corporates.

A group of donors may wish to sponsor one child. Bright Start would prefer one amount payable from a single source, but at the same time is happy to duplicate communication to all individuals in the group. This makes sponsorship more affordable for those who are able to make a small contribution.

Corporates may prefer to sponsor a specific item or event, or contribute towards the extra peripheral childrens needs. Bright Start is able to provide publicity for PR purposes.

A financial endowment arrangement may be more efficient where the lump sum is invested and the dividend or interest is used to sponsor the child.

Bright Start has tabulated the direct costs of the schools as below. Sponsors may pay their contribution in advance, annually or monthly.
