Setting up the sponsorship is a simple process and does not involve any legal contracts. Donors will be asked to sign a sponsorship document which is a consensual agreement which sets out the terms and conditions of the arrangement.
- Ideal sponsors would be sponsors who are able to make a long term financial commitment to see through a significant part of a child’s educational career.
- The minimum term is 2 years, although we would encourage sponsors to see this as a longer term commitment.
- If circumstances change, we will endeavour to find another sponsor to take over the child. In any interim period, Bright Start will cover the cost of the child, through its own resources or fund raising activities.
- We would ask the donor to give at least 3 months notice to find another sponsor.
- Each sponsor is allocated a specific child, although the sponsor may request a preference for gender.
- An optional 20% contribution can be made towards uniforms, extra curricular activities, school trips, aftercare, transport and other related costs.
- Bright Start is a Section 21 organisation - non-profit. Your donations are tax deductible.
Bright Start will publish annual audited accounts for reference, transparency and accountability purposes.
